 Bienvenido / Welcome

Estimado colega

En nombre de la Federación Panamericana e Ibérica de Sociedades de Medicina Critica y Terapia Intensiva  (FEPIMCTI), tengo el honor y el placer de invitarles a asistir a la primera edición del "Día Mundial del Pulmón Crítico" que se celebrará el próximo mes de noviembre 17, 2017.

A pesar de los grandes avances de la medicina moderna, las enfermedades pulmonares siguen teniendo una alta prevalencia en la población mundial y generan una gran morbilidad y mortalidad. Por lo cual una de nuestras principales responsabilidades como profesionales de la salud es mantenernos al día con los últimos avances en nuestro campo.

El “Día Mundial del Pulmón Crítico” tiene como objetivo establecerse como un evento de referencia mundial reconocido por su alto nivel académico y científico así como por su formato  “on-line”, gratuito y bilingüe (Inglés y Español) transmitido por redes sociales. Estas características permitirán la participación activa de miles de profesionales de la salud procedentes de las más diversas regiones del planeta que se sienten unidos por un objetivo: mejorar el paciente con afectación pulmonar crítica.

El “Día Mundial del Día del Pulmón Crítico” se ha organizado en seis sesiones tituladas: "Nuevas opciones para la monitorización y el soporte de la función pulmonar "; "¿Qué hay de nuevo en las enfermedades bronco-obstructivas?"; "Que hemos aprendido luego de medio siglo de Síndrome de distres respiratorio pulmonar agudo", "Pulmón en el paciente inmunodeprimido", "Nuevas opciones para las infecciones pulmonares "y " El pulmón en condiciones extremas". Cada mesa redonda consta de 4 breves conferencias (15 minutos cada una) impartidas por médicos e investigadores destacados de los cinco continentes. El comité científico internacional, presidido por el Dr. Sebastián Ugarte (Chile), garantiza la más alta calidad de cada presentación.

Estimado "fanático del pulmón"

El 17 de noviembre de 2017 se celebrará la primera edición del "Día Mundial del Pulmón Crítico". Será un evento “on-line”, global, gratuito y bilingüe (español e inglés) organizado por la Federación Panamericana e Ibérica de Sociedades de Medicina Critica y Terapia Intensiva  (FEPIMCTI), cuyo principal objetivo es generar evento de alta calidad científica que permita discutir los aspectos clínicos y terapéuticos más novedosos relacionados con el pulmón en situaciones críticas.

El “Día Mundial del Pulmón Crítico" es un evento virtual en el que profesionales de destacada trayectoria a nivel internacional ofrecerán una serie de breves conferencias centradas en los temas más controvertidos y relevantes relacionados con el cuidado de los pacientes con enfermedades pulmonares graves. Los conferenciantes impartirán sus disertaciones desde sus propios hospitales o desde los dos centros mundiales (Fundación INSIMED - Bogotá Colombia y Hospital Universitario HM Sanchinarro - Madrid - España) y se transmitirán simultáneamente en el sitio web del evento y mediante las redes sociales (por ejemplo, Youtube, Facebook o Twitter). On behalf of the Pan American and Iberian Federation of Critical Medicine and Intensive Care (FEPIMCTI), it is my honor and pleasure to invite you to attend the first edition  of “the World Day of the Critical Lung " that will be held on next November 17th, 2017.

Despite the great advances of modern medicine, pulmonary diseases continue to have a high prevalence in the worldwide population as well as generating a great morbidity and mortality. For that reason, one of our main responsibilities as health professionals is to keep updated with the latest advances in our field.

The World Day of the Critical Lung aims to set a global benchmark given its high academic and scientific level and its novel online, free and bilingual (English and Spanish) format broadcasted by social networks. These characteristics will allow for the active participation of thousands of health professionals, coming from the most diverse regions of the planet that feel connected by one objective: improving the patient with critical pulmonary affectation.

The World Day of the Critical Lung Day has been organized into six online roundtables: "New challenges to monitor and support respiratory function"; "What´s new in broncho obstructive diseases?"; “Acute pulmonary distress syndrome after the first half century: what have we learned? "; "The lungs in immunosuppressed patients", “New opportunities for pulmonary infections” and "The lung under extreme conditions".  Each roundtable consists of 4 brief conferences (15 minutes each) provided by leading clinicians and researchers from 5 continents. The international scientific committee, chaired by Dr. Sebastián Ugarte (Chile), guarantees the highest quality of each presentations.

Dear “lung enthusiast”;

On November 17th 2017, the first edition of "The World Day of the Critical Lung" will be held. It will be an online, global, free, bilingual (Spanish and English) participatory and non-profit event organized by the Pan American and Iberian Federation of Critical Medicine and Intensive Care Societies whose main aim is to provide a high scientific quality event that allows for the discussion of the most novel clinical and therapeutic aspects related to the lung in critical situations.

"The World Day of the Critical Lung" is a virtual event in which well recognized professionals from around the world will provide brief conferences focused on specific and highly relevant features related to the care of patients with severe lung diseases. Lecturers will give their conferences from their own hospitals or from the two world centers (INSIMED Foundation - Bogota Colombia and Hospital Universitario HM Sanchinarro - Madrid - Spain) and they will be broadcasted simultaneously on the event website as well as on social networks (e.g. Youtube, Facebook or Twitter).
